Day 1 London/Bangkok
Depart London Heathrow or Gatwick by overnight Qatar Airways scheduled flight via Doha.
Day 2 Bangkok
Arrive Bangkok and transfer to the Eastin Hotel Bangkok for a 5-night stay (Deluxe Room & Breakfast). Remainder of the day at leisure. In the evening enjoy a memorable dinner cruise aboard a beautifully restored rice barge on the Chao Phraya river.
Day 3 Bangkok
After breakfast visit Bangkok’s resplendent Grand Palace beside the Chao Phraya River, including the royal chapel (Wat Phra Kaeo), which enshrines the sacred Emerald Buddha image and is renowned for its delicate design and decoration. Thai set lunch at the Supatra River House. In the afternoon there’s plenty of time to discover Bangkok’s dazzling shopping malls – among them the Emporium, the Central World Plaza (with more than 500 stores, 50 restaurants and 21 cinemas!), The Gaysorn Plaza and Siam Discovery. Between them they offer a new dimension in shopping, spanning the complete spectrum from the glamorous and trendy in luxury goods and designer labels to locally made bargains galore.
Day 4 Bangkok
Morning drive to explore the colourful floating market along the klongs (canals) at Damnern Saduak. Afterwards continue to the Rose Garden for lunch – and to enjoy the delightful setting of a Thai Village for a show of Thai culture, sports and folk dancing. Return to your hotel before an evening excursion to the State Tower to see the amazing panoramic views of Bangkok from the 65th floor. Continue to the Sirocco for a cocktail or local beer at the Sky Bar at the Sirocco.
Day 5 Bangkok
This morning you can learn more about Thai cuisine with some ‘hands on’ practical experience at a 4-hour Thai cooking class at the Baipai Thai Cooking School, an ideal home-style ‘fun’ learning environment. After lunch wander through Bangkok’s fascinating China Town and test your bargaining skills on a range of accessories and gifts at really tempting prices. Explore Pak Klong Talard flower market before returning to your hotel.
Alternative Afternoon Tour Chatuchak Weekend Market: Available on Saturdays and Sundays is this private tour to one of Thailand’s liveliest markets for bargain-hunters - with 9,000 stalls seemingly displaying just about every imaginable (and occasionally unimaginable!) item you could ever need.
Day 6 Bangkok
