poetry of the Taj Mahal - Shah Jehan's enduring memorial to eternal
love - and the awesome Red Fort. Both stand proudly as ageless symbols
of the Mughal Empire. Nearby are the perfectly preserved remains of
the abandoned red sandstone citadel of Fatehpur Sikri, built by the
Emperor Akbar and a haunting reminder of past Mughal glories. |
