The capital of Sabah, 'K.K.' (called Jesselton in the time of the British North Borneo Company) is known as 'The Rainforest City', thanks to its situation on the edge of one of the world's greatest rainforests. The viewpoint from Signal Hill reveals a busy, mainly modern city, notable for its gleaming modern Sabah Foundation building and State Mosque. It's the stepping-stone to the island beaches of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, and Mount Kinabalu, South-East Asia's highest peak.
